Amazon is making voice assistant Alexa mimic anybody even dead person

Amazon is working hard to make its voice assistant Alexa even more advanced. This time company is planning to bring a new feature in which the assistant would be able to produce sound just like your friend or family and the best part is that it will work even after the death of your loved once means you will be able to hear them even after there death.

The Senior Vice President of Amazon Rohit Prasad said: Alexa will mimic any voice after hearing less than a minute of audio. He further added that: the goal of this is to “make memories last” after so many of us lost someone during the pandemic.

Amazon’s goal for Alexa is generalizable intelligence, which means the ability to adapt to user environments and learn new concepts with little external input. The goal is not to be confused with the all-knowing, all-capable, uber artificial general intelligence, or AGI, which Alphabet’s DeepMind unit and Elon Musk co-founded OpenAI are seeking said, Amazon VP Rohit Prasad.

An Amazon executive said that Alexa had 100 million customers globally, in line with figures the company has provided for device sales since January 2019.

The new feature is still in the developing phase and the company didn’t share when it will bring the feature to the public.

Amazon hopes the project will help Alexa make omnipresent in consumers’ lives. But public attention has already shifted elsewhere. At Alphabet Inc’s Google, an engineer made the highly contested claim that a company chatbot had advanced to having the capacity to have feelings.

Amazon shared its vision for fellowship with Alexa at the conference. In a video segment, it portrayed a child who asked, “Alexa, can grandma finish reading me the Wizard of Oz?” a few seconds later, Alexa confirmed the command and altered her voice. She spoke calmly, less robotically, clearly sounding like the person’s grandmother in real life.

Some individuals are not liking this Idea of amazon. One person commented on Twitter:- How long until we get phone scams that sound exactly like our kids asking to borrow money or our parents asking for reminders about their banking logins?
